Hayley Lauren Couture was created in 2005 as
a quality custom design and alteration studio.
After 4 years in a home studio, HLCouture
expanded into a storefront and include a new
division of Vows Tuxedo. But the expansion
wasn’t easy.
In an economy with little to lend, Hayley Lauren
spent months searching for the funds to include this
new venture. In February 2009, Hayley had just
about settled on putting tuxedos off for a few years.
And then came Daniel.
Daniel is my nephew. The first time I spent holding him after he was home from the hospital, I began telling him about my life and our family. I got to the part about what I did for a living and was stuck. Hadn’t I considered giving up? Was that something I wanted him to know? No, it wasn’t. Daniel need to know that life gets hard, but you can’t ever give up on your dreams. So, I made this one promise, a pact, a VOW. When he was big enough to wear a tuxedo, I’d have one waiting for him. Four months later, I signed papers to begin moving the studio to our present location. And when asked about a name, the only one I could consider was Vows. Because I had made a promise to show him what dreaming could do.
Daniel is a year and half now. He comes to the store , plays with the mannequins (getting a kick out of the fact they have no heads), and spends some time helping clean up the bits of thread that are a constant in the workroom. This past spring, Daniel proudly wore his first tuxedo in the Springtime Tallahassee parade.
